PoC Deployment of the PicoCELA Wi-Fi Mesh Solution at Ninh Binh’s Resort

A Reliable Outdoor Wi-Fi Infrastructure Expansion Solution for Resorts and Hotels

To enhance the Internet connectivity experience for resort guests, we conducted a PoC deployment of the PicoCELA Wi-Fi Mesh solution at a premium resort in Ninh Binh from May 12 to May 18, 2026.

The objective of this project was to evaluate the feasibility of deploying a flexible, stable, and cost-effective outdoor wireless network solution in a resort environment characterized by a large area and multiple separated accommodation zones.

PoC Objectives

During the PoC, the technical team focused on evaluating the following aspects:

  • Establishing a communication environment that enables guests to access stable Wi-Fi services in outdoor areas throughout the resort.
  • Verifying the feasibility of a wireless backhaul connection between the central operations office and the accommodation area.
  • Confirming Wi-Fi signal delivery through the wireless mesh network formed by PicoCELA devices.
  • Evaluating overall system stability under actual operating conditions within the resort environment.

Deployment Solution

The technical team temporarily installed 3 PicoCELA devices (Model: PCWL0511) at strategic locations throughout the resort to form a wireless mesh network.

The devices were configured to automatically establish wireless backhaul links along a predefined transmission path, enabling network coverage expansion without the need for additional fiber-optic cabling or complex network infrastructure.

This solution is particularly suitable for:

  • Large-scale resorts and hotels
  • Eco-tourism destinations
  • Outdoor environments
  • Areas where network cabling infrastructure is difficult to deploy
  • Projects requiring rapid deployment and optimized infrastructure costs

PoC Results

Following the monitoring and operational evaluation period, the system demonstrated positive results.

Operational Performance

  • The Access Points operated stably throughout the PoC period.
  • Wireless backhaul connectivity between PicoCELA devices was successfully established.
  • Users were able to access stable Wi-Fi services in the accommodation area through the mesh network.

Frequency Band Evaluation

5 GHz

  • Good data transmission performance
  • Stable throughput
  • Capable of meeting operational data traffic requirements

2.4 GHz

  • Stable operation
  • Good coverage performance
  • However, throughput was lower than that of the 5 GHz band due to inherent frequency-band characteristics and environmental radio interference

Conclusion

The PoC results demonstrate that the PicoCELA solution effectively meets the requirements for outdoor Wi-Fi network deployment in large-scale resorts, hotels, and tourism destinations.

With its ability to:

  • Reduce cabling and infrastructure costs
  • Enable rapid deployment
  • Maintain stable operation

PicoCELA is a suitable solution for Smart Resort, Smart Hospitality, and next-generation outdoor wireless connectivity infrastructure applications.
